The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the new king of the hill. That’s because the new ZL1 is the quickest Camaro ever created. This honor was recently bestowed on the Camaro ZL1 after achieving an average top speed of 198 mph at Germany’s Automotive Testing Papenburg GmBH proving ground.
Schnellste camaro aller zeiten…this is how the Germans say the new Camaro ZL1 is the fastest Camaro ever! The 650 horsepower ZL1 achieved this feat using the all-new 10-speed automatic transmission.
“This test caps an impressive list of performance stats for the Camaro ZL1, which was designed to excel at everything,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “It’s the most capable — and fastest —Camaro ever.”
Maybe the best news of all is the new Camaro ZL1 is available at your local Chevy dealer. Prices start at $63,435 for the coupe with a manual transmission and $65,830 for the coupe with an automatic transmission.

The 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit is the first major auto show of the new year. The Motor City hosts one of the best shows for muscle car lovers and this year’s event was no exception. The great thing about the Los Angeles Auto Show is that it marks the beginning of auto show season. The new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 recently tested at Germany’s fabled Nurburgring track. Chevrolet’s sixth generation ZL1 boasted an impressive 7:29.60 time. That’s over two seconds faster than the Shelby GT350R and the Porsche 911 Turbo S! Even more surprising, this record is 11.67 seconds quicker than the previous generation Camaro ZL1.
