Fifty Years of the Chevrolet Camaro

Fifty years ago, Chevrolet introduced a car that would become one of the most revered vehicles in its sports car lineup. Code named XP-836, the Camaro was Chevrolet’s contender in what would become one of the hottest segments in the automotive industry. The Camaro was Chevrolet’s entry into the pony car market that was wildly popular in the 1960s. It’s been said the word Camaro is derived from the French language meaning friend or comrade. That’s a pretty fitting way to describe a car that’s been a companion with many of us for half a century. Let’s turn back the clock and look back at 50 years of classic Camaros. 2017 North American International Auto Show

The 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit is the first major auto show of the new year. The Motor City hosts one of the best shows for muscle car lovers and this year’s event was no exception. The Big Three were well represented and there were a few surprises that caught our attention as well. The temperature outside may have been in the teens but our enthusiasm heated up once we got inside Cobo Hall. There was so much to see and experience during the two-day media preview. TCB Visits The 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show

The great thing about the Los Angeles Auto Show is that it marks the beginning of auto show season. We’ve been counting the days to the show and anxious to get up close and personal with some of the hottest new and vintage muscle during media days at this year’s spectacle. This year’s show definitely didn’t disappoint! The Los Angeles Convention Center was abuzz with plenty of fresh muscle from the Big Three and other vendors. This latest iteration of the legendary Grand Sport pedigree features lightweight construction, track-born aerodynamics, and a 460 horsepower LT1 V8 engine. In this edition of the Muscle Car Showcase, we’ll explore the 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro. Introduced as a concept at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, this Camaro features retro styling cues fused with modern technology. Its long hood, sculpted fenders, and rear tail lamps are reminiscent of the 1969 model, yet the engine and powertrain are packed with modern-day technology. For those that believed the Camaro died in 2002, this new iteration was welcomed by Camaro enthusiasts everywhere when it was unleashed in April 2009.
