Smokey and the Bandit 40th Anniversary Festival

Tommy’s Car Blog was on hand during the Smokey and the Bandit 40th Anniversary Festival in Jonesboro, Georgia this past June. The city of Jonesboro teamed up with the Burt Reynolds Institute, Restore a Muscle Car, The Bandit Run, and the Snowman’s Run to host this year’s event. Jonesboro was one of the main filming locations of the movie and a great place to hold the event. There was plenty to see and do including a Burt Reynolds look-a-like contest and a recreation of the bridge jump held at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Read the rest of this entry

2016 Shelby GT350 North American Track Tour

Ford recently invited us to participate in the 2016 Shelby GT350 North American Track Tour. The tour allowed us to get up close and personal with the new GT350 and then take the car for a few laps around the track to see what this beast is capable of doing. Our Thursday morning started early at 8:00 a.m. at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, Georgia. After getting registered for the event, visiting with a few fellow journalists, and woofing down some blueberry muffins and coffee, we were ready to start the day with a brief orientation about today’s activities. Tommy’s Car Blog Visits Streetside Classics – Atlanta

Streetside Classics is one of our favorite collector car dealers in the Atlanta area. When we heard they were hosting their annual Toys for Tots cruise-in and car show, we knew we had to go. It was such a festive event with Christmas music, holiday-inspired refreshments, and even a visit from Santa Claus. After dropping off some toys we brought, we grabbed a snack and some coffee before making our way to check out all the awesome cars on display. Read the rest of this entry
